Julia E. Dean Pine-Needle Pottery Mug, White Rim (Pre-Loved)

This wheel-thrown stoneware mug was handmade by potter Julia E. Dean. Long pine needles are pressed into the unglazed buff clay, leaving fine, sweeping impressions that wrap around the mug and even curl under the handle. A glossy white glaze lines the inside, wraps the ribbed rim and coats the handle, with a warm, toasted orange blush where the glaze meets the bare clay. The tall, rounded belly shape is cozy to hold for coffee, tea or cider, and the inside finishes in a little throwing spiral at the bottom.

We found it secondhand and gathered it for someone who'll love it. Only one is available. Once it's gone, it's gone.
